Frequently Asked Questions

I'm just not sure what information I actually need or I just have some questions.

Fill out the contact form and ask. I'll be happy to work with you to see what you have and what can be done with it. There's no charge until we figure out what you want and what will be required to find it.

I have only bits and pieces of family information.

It's amazing what those bits and pieces may tell. It's always worth checking. I started with only the knowledge that one great-grandfather was in the Civil War and a cousin of my grandmother was in the Baseball Hall of Fame.

I have only my parents' information. Will this work?

Generally it will. It also depends on what state they were born in if they are still alive. Some states do not allow publication of any information until the death of an individual and some not even then. I can certainly check it out and let you know.

What if I want to start with my grandparents?

You can start with yourself or with your parents or with a back-when ancestor. You can ask for all the branches available or a single one.

What's it going to cost?

This is the number one question when we're looking at anything we want and there's  a price tag on it. Check out the Terms of Service for a full explanation. In brief, I do not charge a fee but ask for a donation to our family cemetery.

You offer fewer services than many other professional genealogists. Why?

Those that charge larger fees and offer more services are in a business where they work on genealogy on a day to day basis. I'm doing it simply because I love genealogy, family, history, mysteries and puzzles. I also only do research in the U.S.

I hope to help others at an amount that they can afford by simply asking for a donation to our family cemetery. I want folks to learn about their families and help them get into the lineage society of their choice.
